Photoshoot

Below are the best of the shots from Ryan's 7 month photoshoot a few weeks ago. Big thanks to our good friend Bob Neumann at Big Event Studios for the WONDERFUL expressions of our little guy. Enjoy!

PS. Max would also like it noted that his son's fingers on the football laces was not rigged in the photo below and that it does in fact illustrate his son's natural skill which stems soley from his family's gene pool. Next photoshoot we'll hook up the boy with some oil paints and I'll show you what I've contributed. Abstract expressionist, watch out!

And we're back! Our little familia had our first road trip and it went amazingly well considering poor little man had to sit in his car seat for 13 hours straight. What we learned is that our kid is an amazing little trooper given the hours in the car, waking up in countless different places and being passed around from one new family member to another. Ryan shined. However, he is certainly happy to be home, as are we.

For those of you not in the know, we headed to Plattsburg NY (the northeastern most tip of NY state, across the bridge from Canada and Vermont) for the marriage of Kevin and Lee. Kevin is Max's second oldest brother—thank you Johnny for clarifying the birth order after last post—and Max was proud to stand up as his best man. We then headed five hours south to Ithaca to spend four days with the rest of Max's family. Everyday we managed to see at least two groups of loved ones. It was wonderful to show Ryan off, but sad to come home knowing it will be a good length of time before we're back. For both Max's Dad and Patti, as well as his mom, this was only their second visit with Ryan. And it was the first time Max's brothers Kevin, Billy and Brian got to meet him. While in Ithaca we also celebrated out 6th wedding anniversary by taking a dinner cruise out into Cayuga lake.

Ryan's conked out on the couch. Max is getting his tux fitted for Kirstyn & Eric's wedding. And I am sitting in my clean clean kitchen! (We just finished ad mad clean of the house as we have people coming for a walk-through tonight after my dad's b-day dinner.)

So Ryan has had many firsts lately. Among them are first:
  • Road trip
  • Visit to a foreign Country (Canada does count)
  • Green veggies, everything from peas to spinach
  • Fruit, so far pears and bananas
  • Meet and greet with 3 uncles and a great grandma
  • Picnic
  • Touch of grass to his feet (See below...not a fan)
  • Swim in a REALLY BIG swimming pool
  • Stay in a hotel
  • Visit to Ithaca, the Sub Shop, Wegmans and taste of Purity Ice cream (indriectly of course!
  • Wedding
  • Word! It's "Mom" (Second words is "Papa")
I'll let the photos do the rest of the talking. Much love to all our people.

Can you say happy to be home? This is Ryan at 4am reunited with his long lost exerciser after a 11 hour car ride straight-through the night. He was so great though...even in Canada when we got strange looks for feeding a baby in a Starbucks at 11pm.

Nana feeding Ryan a little breakfast at the famous Queen Diner of Dryden NY....so it's not famous, just the only decent meal besides the A1.

Apparently the small hippo pool at the cottage was not deep enough waters to make our little guy happy. Ryan LOVED the hotel pool.

Cracking up at dinner time.

Ryan is huge into cuddling right now. We love every second of it!

Uncle Billy and Ryan playing cops and robbers witht the toy cruisers. Ryan will be so excited that his Uncle is a police man one day. Almost as excited as I am (I have actually dressed up in the full umiform and REALLY want to go on a ride along.)

Uncle Brian was a natural...holding a baby for the first time ever!

Ryan and Grandpa were fast friends.

Every time we're together a photo is taken of the boys. Now we can add Ryan to the group. Three generations of Kerry men.

Here's Grandma trying to get Ryan to put his feet down in the grass. We were cracking up at his new phobia. He never did touch it.

7 Months

Hi all,
We're in full on summer mode. The last three weekends we've been up a cottage that my parents rented. Tons of fun and relaxation. Thursday evening we leave for an all night drive to up-state New York for Kevin and Lee's wedding (Max's oldest brother). Then it's down to Ithaca on Sunday to see the rest of the family...Ryan's yet to meet his uncles on Max's side and has not seen his grandparents since he was a month old so we're excited. We return a week later (Thurs), only to have Max leave for Veer camp on Monday and then Palm Sprigs on Thursday for a long golf weekend with his high school buddies. BUSY, but fun!

Ryan is blowing our mind. He's rolling and standing and babbling and eating solids. Ryan and Max have their own little games. Ryan's exerting his will (Frustration and delight) when he wants a particular toy. And he's got his own little quirks (He can only be soothed by singing "Hello Dolly", alternative lyrics are acceptable as we've forgotten the really ones...and he thinks both fake coughing and humans panting like a dog are hilarious).

There's so much to document, so please excuse our endless feed of photos but we really cannot help it. So sit back, relax and have a little Ryan time...

Love to you all,
Court, Max & Ryan

Ryan's sitting up on his own and can even balance his weight in anticipation of falling over.

He's standing up a lot now and loves to hang onto your hands or the coffee table like a little man.

If you saw the last post, you know that Ryan did not take to the swimming pool on first attempt. We should have known to strip his clothes off...he loved it! Thank you Grandma Nora for the ideas on how to integrate him into the water!

This is his first exploration of the water...and it of course led to Ryan creating a fountain all his own!

Ryan and his hippo pool.

Check out his rolls. Yes, those are moobs and he's not ashamed to show them.

Ryan is such a hard-core bouncer in the jumper, he has blisters on his toe! Looks like he's pronated like me...ah, orthotics are in his future.

Best buddies. Cali has gone from thinking Ryan is annoying to being his constant protector. When Ryan's napping, Cali goes to check on him every 15 minutes or sleeps under his bed.

He's a news junkie, just like his momma...and he tears apart the GR press for it's biased coverage, literally.

Food from eye brow to chin. Ryan's into Squash, Carrots and Sweet Potatoes these days. Onto green veggies next week.

Eating solids is a lot of hard work.

Where'd he go? We call him the tumbleweed since he loves to roll on the floor and sometimes gets wrapped up in the sheet.
