We're easing out of the end of the school year and into summer. Next week is Max's last week at school and Ryan's last week of Deb / Milestones. He'll still attend Milestones once a week to hold his spot and to keep him connected to his school, but will be with daddy the rest of the week (and mommy on Friday's if I can "respect the flex"...work is getting crazy again and I may have to work the Friday's I normally don't.)
Max has spent the last few weekends either laying 9 yards of mulch or building Ryan's "condo" so we're excited to kick back tomorrow after church and head to the zoo. Ryan's insisting we go. It's his favorite game to play. He pretends to be a polar bear and piles every pillow and blanket in the room around him and then cuddles into me with this sad pathetic face that says "feed me polar bear mommy." It's pretty sweet. He has surpassed the "why's" and moved fully into "where did ___ come from." Two days ago he asked where his hands come from. What do you say to that? He's getting good at telling us every detail of his day. It's always funny when he tells long stories but says things like Yoda. I hear a lot of "I have to need it." He's also really into singing right now. He tries to sing along with just about every song, regardless of if he knows the words or not. Although he surprised me at bedtime the other night when he sang the words to an old slave song about God that I used to sing to him as a baby. Nothing sweeter than that.
Well, that's all the bragging I can do for tonight. Here's to summer.
Love,
Court, Max + Ryan
For two days we had to help Ryan up the climbing wall on his new Condo. Then Max turned his back on day three, only to find Ryan up top on his own!
Grandma and Grandpa Kerry came for a visit and we had the best time. Ryan taught Grandma how to race cars.
Grandpa (pe-paw) is on Ryan's mind constantly since they left. He was talking about all his family he gets to see when we go to the cottage this summer.
The artist at work. We had friends over the other night and Rhonda drew a road for Ryan (on his command). Then we started chatting. When we stopped to admire his drawing, Ryan had taken this abstract line and turned it into a semi-truck. This was a game my dad and I used to play when I was 8! Not 2!
It's all about sorting, grouping, and lining up the fleet lately. He'll do it by size or color or movie association. And as if we weren't already bananas over Cars, the sequel is coming out this month. Ryan has invited just about everyone we know, and others we don't, to go see the new film with him.
Too cute not to post all three. Ryan and Cali are BFFs!

Maybe some of you remember a picture f Ryan at 4 months old with a stuffed frog. We're graduated to the real deal. The new house if full of opportunities for Ryan to intersect with nature. We love it!
Today was hot, so we let Ryan have the run o f the hose. He figured out how to spray it and change the spray stream on the front dial. Needless to say, Max, Cali and I were soaked.
No one was safe!
This shot pretty much sums it up. Look at Max's face!
Ryan playing zoo.
And another round of zoo, but this time the polar bear was kept company by a giant lion named Cali!
