The Great Pause may have interrupted the normality of Ryan's 11th year, but it didn't stop this kid from growing, changing and becoming more amazing.

Ryan turns 11!

This is a retrospective post on Ryan, since life was way too crazy during his 11th birthday to accurately tell his story. It was an intense year of growing up, both in the normal 10-11 year old way and in the life-is-handing-you-a-whole-lot-of-grownup-stuff-to-wrestle-with kind of a way. But I'm happy to report that he's grown a ton, his heart is tender and he's fierce and driven in the best kind of ways.

Elise turns 7!

The transition from 6 to 7 has been a year of growth for Elise in so many positive ways.

Ryan turns 10!

The jump from 9 to 10 was a big one for our boy. This would be the year he started to discover his inner compass.

Elise turns 6!

We're not sure how it happened, but she's no longer a little any longer. She's fierce, a tad bit (too) sassy and tragically funny. 

Ryan turns 9!

The year of Ryan at 8 was an adventure of middle boyhood...No longer a little, but also not a big, this boy keeps us smiling and challenged day-in and day-out.

Elise turns 5!
