Ryan's party included his best buddies (except Levi couldn't make it due to a wedding). The two year old crowd featured: Brady, Colin, Conner (NaNew), and Henry Danger. Accompanying them were all their parents and siblings. It was a blast and the kids left with a mix CD of all the crowd's favorite songs.
So for those of you far away, here's a way to share it with us. Wish you all could have been here. Love to all....now off to hibernate. We're getting slammed by a winter storm...listen carefully. You can hear Max and Ryan chanting "snow day. snow day. snow day" since there's a new sled in the garage waiting for it's first whoosh down the hill.
Love,
Court, Max + Ryan
The week started with Ryan's 1st Christmas pageant with his class at Milestones. He was chipper, cute and excited going into it...
...but not so excited to perform in front of 200 people once it started. As the door opened and the class entered, the room went silent. Then everyone heard a "NO!" from outside the doorway. Max entered carrying Ryan and ended up on stage for the entire thing. He looked like the only male teacher at the school!
This is the exact expression he had on his face for the ENTIRE performance. He never moved. Just look at me in the audience frozen. It was priceless. My poor family traveled 30 minutes to watch him sit expressionless on a stage for 3 minutes.
Things went better after he could escape.
Knowing that the party later in the day would be filled with activity, we opted to give Ryan our gift as well as his gifts from max's side of the family in the morning. He loves this new hoop from Nana (Max's mom).
Since he got two gifts that could not be wrapped, we asked Ryan to close his eyes. This is what that looks like.
Uncle B (Max's brother Brian) scored big points with a bathtub basketball hoop that is now part of our kitchen. Not sure it will ever see the tub. But hey, dinner time's more interesting.
Ryan's really starting to understand what gifts are, so this Christmas will be fun. When asked to open a gift, he immediately runs to assume this position on the couch.
The camera (it's a real video and still camera) from Grandpa and Grandpa (MeMah & PePaw) was a huge hit too. Now he won't be grabbing ours all the time.
Here is Ryan's first self portrait. Very introspective.
What to get your two year old son you ask? Well a vacuum of course!
Now Ryan has a replica of our Dyson that really works. Consider this early training for chores.
After morning gifts we built a heck of a mass-transit bridge in the living room.
The party was great. He was excited for his new cooking utensils from Nami & Papa.
Here's Max helping with the opening.
A high five between Henry Danger and Ryan. Apparently the cake met their approval.
The birthday boy, unsure why mom is not the one behind the camera (thanks Carrie!)
The morning after his party. The inside of the ottoman is his new favorite fort. He spent most of yesterday playing with balloons.
