32 Months

Not sure how it's been almost 2 months since we've posted. But clearly that indicates there's been a whole lot of summer happening in the Kerry household. Probably the most interesting thing we've done as of late was our annual summer trip to Ithaca. We rented the same cottage on the lake and got home last weekend. It was a perfect trip in every way. Max and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary. Ryan had a blast swimming and at the zoo on the way to Ithaca. The smile on Ryan's sweet face in the pics below say more than I ever could!

Love to you all,
Court, Max + Ryan

This pic does not due justice in representing all the quality time Ryan spent with his Uncles. Uncle B (Brian) and Billy were at the cottage a ton. And even Uncle Johnny flew in from Nashville for our mini-reunion. Last year, Billy taugh Ryan to text. This year he taught Ryan how to play washers. He learned how to eat Sals Pizza from Uncle B. And how to have a lake bath from Uncle Johnny. (The image is still burned in our minds :)

Aunt Emily (aka Sugar momma) and Ryan were picture perfect at Stewart park after the sprinklers. Our only disappointment is that the schedule didn't work for her to make the family pictures. Thank goodness I'm good at photoshop!

We had two trips to Stweart park, one for the family pics of Max's mom's side and once for a run through the famous fountains. Ryan clearly enjoyed every second...except when he fell.

Max surprised me by renting a paddle board on our anniversary, something I've wanted to do. Ryan loved riding on it too...

...and jumping off it too!

Everyday was spent in the water, especially since the thermometer topped off at over 100ยบ one day. Hot or not, we were blessed with only one evening thunderstorm and a cottage with air conditioning.

A big draw this year were the ducks. all 20+ of them. They were so tame they would come within a foot of you to get food. Ryan loved it.

Because it was so hot, Taughannock falls were only a trickle in comparison to how they normally are. Located less than a mile from our place, we were able to walk up the mile long creek bed to the falls. Perfect relief from the heat.

Max cannot stand the "Ithaca is Gorges" legacy (did you get the pun? Ithaca has TONS of gorges and waterfalls. It's like Hawaii with hippies and scholars.) Ryan loved embarrassing Max by wearing his tie-die edition to an actual Gorge...(I'm sure Max grew up saying, "When I have a kids, he's never wearing one of those...")

The boys loved paddle boating. One day we had a race while I was on the paddle board...I let them win.
Ryan had a great time making cupcakes for the very first time with Grandma. She even had his very own apron and oven mitts.

Baywatch.

Ryan made a huge step forward in the water this year. We're rarely at a pool, so at the hotel on the way to Ithaca, he impressed us with his kicks and his willingness to put his face in the water. It was only his third time ever in a pool. He even would jump off the side to us. At the cottage he worked on his kicks and more jumping. He'll be a fish in no time.

Nana and Ryan had many great meals together and story time at the cottage. And the monster truck she surprised him with was a constant companion on the trip. He even slept with it!

I look at this photo and realize how fast time is flying. He looks like such a BOY!

Half of the Kerry men, kicking back in the rockers on the front porch of the cottage.
