For those with school-age kids, you know that the New Year’s Eve ball drop in Times Square is actually a farce. Sorry Jenny McCarthy and Ryan Seacrest, but you have it all wrong. Ok, you have a LOT of things wrong, so add this to your very long list.

Goodbye Sweet Cali

You were a boy’s best friend and a little girl’s curiosity. You’ve taught them to love deeper, wider and broader so that their definition of sibling and family extends into the animal kingdom.

I jinxed February

If you want to have a good month, don't ever claim that the previous month was: tough, hard or the "worst month ever." In fact, don't even set expectations that an upcoming month will be great. Take my advice: just go with the flow.

I can't lie. This month has seriously sucked. I am simply posting this as a reminder that we are here and that there are lots of positives about our life that shooting through a lens helps me remember.
