There's a lot more pics than usual. It could be because we're FINALLY able to get outside...then again, in the last month we've had snow, hail, a flood like end times, 88ยบ days and fall all over again. Today is a dreary Memorial day, though we celebrated yesterday at our friends, the Damuth's, in style in the crisp air. Max has one and a half weeks of school left and we're excited for "Summer Max" to make his appearance.
I'll let the pictures tell the stories this month. Hope each of you celebrated the weekend with those you love!
Love Courtney, Max, Ryan and Elise
This orange is just the start of all the table foods Elise has begun to try (though we normally peel them for her :). She likes the variety, but with the fourth of her teeth poking through today (top right), her appetite is pretty hit or miss. Plus she was sick yet again...colds and croup. One day she'll be healthy.
The look of determination.
Her shirt says "Be Courageous" and she certainly is lately. From crawling everywhere to pulling up on anything that will hold her, she's become the explorer of the house. Although in public she prefers to be perched in our arms and quietly taking in ALL the sites. She's an observer.
Ryan helped Max prep the soil for our little garden and I finished planting it today.
It was warm enough to turn on the sprinkler the other night, though due to the mosquitos we're banished to the concrete these days after 7pm. Ryan had fun daring himself to get close to the sprinkler, then Max would suddenly turn it on.
I love Ryan in the background here photobombing Ms. Elise's photo session.
Her words, in order of appearence, include: Hi, More, Daddy, Mommy...oh and the primal SCREAM!
Mother's Day with my babies.
Ryan and his favorite friend, Tessa, on the way to ice cream. The sweetest thing I've ever seen is Ryan walking to the corner of her cup-de-sac and sitting on the neighbor's lawn waiting for her since it appeared they weren't home. It didn't take long before Tess was in her dining room window, 6 houses away, screaming out his name.
Ry's been wanting to wear his spiderman costume all around. Here he was convinced that Tessa had no idea who he was.
Early morning cuddles in the big bed.
Our neighbor had baby bunnies and Ryan was so excited to actually get to hold one.
Max is loved by his students, so much so that they made a shirt for him.
Yes, some kids call him "Care Bear"...among other things.
Ry and Tess catching up on some Boyton.
Elise loves playing with Cali and in return, Cali is very patient with her. Generally Elise is pretty gentle with her touches, but gentle to the eye ball is still a poke in the eye.
Looking pretty at Papa and Nami's house.
Ryan loves to lay his head in Elise's lap and have her play with his hair. It's kind of their thing.
Early mornings here being at about 5:30am. Sometime the iPad is our only defense since Elise tends to wake up about three times a night. His favorites are Bob the Builder, Curious George, Chuck and Mighty Machines (the 1995 documentary series where the trucks have lame canadian voices.)
"What's up?"
The artist at work on the "longest fuel truck you've ever seen."
The perfect mix: a litle artsy on top, a little sporty on the bottom.
Ryan and Henry Danger sliding in the backyard this weekend during a cookout.
She's waiting on something...
...and frankly not to happy about whatever it is.
Reaching for the stars. Usually her hand is flipped the other way in a sort of "ta-da" motion.
A round of peek-a-boo keeps Elise smiling.
