We celebrated father's day with my family at Kir and Eric's new house and the kids had a blast on the beach. It was a greta break after Max's first week of running the speed and agility camp he organizes every year.
We're headed this Friday to Ithaca for our yearly vacation to see Max's family. It's a new cottage for us, but it looks amazing. We're very excited to spend the 4th there. Lot's of fireworks! Best of yet, Elise has not met any of her aunts and uncles on Max's side yet, so they'll be with us to celebrate her first birthday. And none of them have seen Ryan in two years. He's an entirely different kid now!
I'll let the pictures do the rest since I am in a mad rush to get 2 weeks worth of work done in three days. The price of vacation I suppose. Love to you all—and "we'll see you soon" to many of you!
Courtney, Max, Ryan + Elise
Ryan and the neighbors have set up "Club Kerry" in our front yard. When it's not the pool, it's the "Slippy Slide" as Ryan calls it.
Elis has already grown out of this hat in two weeks! She's got a Kerry sized melon.
Ryan saw my toes done after a pedicure with my sister and my mom (for her belated birthday!) and he insisted his get done too. He always notices, "Mom, I like your pretty toe nails." We gave him the royal treatment the morning after he was sick...now they are red! Max's player's razed "coach" pretty bad the other day when Ryan showed up in sandals.
Elise has a real appreciation for dogs. She squeals with delight when she sees small ones in particular. And Cali of course howls in misery when she cries....still!
Here's me and my baby during the flu. Miserable all around.
Ryan's been into drawing things other than trucks. Here's his Kitty.
Bathtime!
Ryan and his buddy Hayden from across the street. He may be left to us in his parent's wills....
Ryan during or church picnic. We're in the midst of the first phase of building a new church so soon, we'll no longer be meeting in a gym (or a bounce house)!
Elise's eyes are somewhere between brown and hazel depending on the day. Her peach fuzz head looks strawberry blond...with what little hair there actually is. When she sweats, we can at least see it...it becomes little wavy lines, so she may be a curly toe-head! We'll see.
Ryan about 6 hours before the Great Blue Moon Explosion of 2013. He's wearing his hat sideways like Uncle B!
Elise and I 2 hours before she went Exorcist on us.
Our town enjoying Tuesday night music on the dam...we were having a great time infecting the masses since we didn't know the kids were sick yet.
Believe it or not, this dune is across the street from our home, as are the next couple of shots. I see years ahead of campouts, bug catching and dirt biking through the vacant land.
Festival of the Arts was the true start of summer for us. Elise loved watching al the people.
Ryan enjoyed all the hands on art projects.
He kind missed the point of building a tall sculpture and instead built a ramp for his cars...it did not last, but Max and him have screwed it together to make a great ramp/plane (if that's even possible).
Ryan also loved riding the giant tire swing...it was pushed by 12 guys!
A recent rainbow over our neighborhood.
Elise watching all the action as the big kids did jumps into the pool and rated each other on a scale of 1 to 1million.
Sweet child at The Pump House for frozen yogurt. She was a fan.
Bat Boy showing off his recent garage sale find. We participate in our neighborhood sale for the first time ever and made more cash than we could have expected. Most of all, Ryan, made out like a bandit.
One of the things I always want to remember about Elise's babyhood is this hand motion...It's as if she's in the chorus line of her very own broadway show. And when she's not doing this she pats my back or gently stroked my hair...never pulls.
