I can't believe we're already into April and we're catching up on March. There was so much that happened in a month that was actually very slow moving, that we have to break it into two posts. So this one will just be about our normal life. In our house. Cooped up. And ready for Spring!
I started experimenting with my new LensBaby spark. Generally during bath time/shower time, the kids like to do their own thing and it gives me time to practice and play, though lately, Elise is much more into dramatic play. Her little bath animals like to introduce themselves with their generally specific names like "Puppy" or "Grey Puppy" and play hide-and-seek or tag. It's very sweet. I love how dreamy the images look with the nostalgic vignettes.
Speaking of Little Miss, lately our little leprechaun is all about dressing herself. Generally things go as they should and end up put on in the right direction. And since we're not too concerned about matching in our house (and for Max and Ryan..everything they own matches everything else in the land of windpants and sports shorts) our only real correction is her shoes since they often end up on the wrong feet!
Elise is trying really hard to master reading since she sees what an amazing job Ryan is doing. She follows along with her finger and acts as though she's sounding out words. She's also all about sneaking into Ryan's room while he's at school and playing with his stuff. So far she's gone undetected, but I suspect that is going to be short lived!
It may not be immediately detectable, but we've invested in a new camera for me and these are my very first shots with it. I feel very blessed that Max supported me in the purchase since the Canon 5D MarkIII is pretty legit on the scale of professional camera gear. I am hoping it leads to many new adventures. Already I see and feel a difference. This month's posts is a mix between the two cameras so time will tell if anyone else notices :)
These are my first shots with another new lens, the LensBaby Sweet 50. This one has a steep learning curve but it's been fun. Here's Ryan before school vegging out and then at the bus stop right after the snow left us.
To escape boredom and give Max's back a chance to rest (he's had back issues all month unfortunately) the two guys set out for some hot tub time on one particularly cold March morning. Ryan clearly had a blast now that he's old enough to go in.
That's about now for the "normal stuff" of life. Next post is the Kerry's Out and About!
