This entry should probably be entitled "Go Jump In the Lake." We had a blast watching the boys jump. Us girls stayed dry and safe from the dock's edge. The pic above is Ryan contemplating his next combination since the goal was mega splash. You can guess who won.
Though the weather was less than warm at this point, but Max promised (and he never breaks a promise), the two of these dare devils spent HOURS jumping into the water. Cayuga lake is 480+ feet deep at the center, so as you can imagine, it was ideal for jumping. And don't worry grandma's solo jumps were covered by life jackets and watchful eyes.
Elise spent the day watching the activities more than actually participating. At this point she wasn't so sure about jumping in, swimming or going in any of the boats....but she did find time to break it down. Thankfully the boat house accommodated music, so she was in heaven watching and moving to the tunes.
Ryan, shockingly enough, fished some more. He even started baiting his own worm! (Note from Max since he graced me with sleeping in and took Ryan dockside at 7am.)
She didn't know I was watching, so that's why I adore these shots. I will always remember this independent phase. And though I curse it at times, I admire her determination and the subsequent excitement she feels when she's completed something "Me Self."
At one point as I was watching Max, watch the kids, I realized that in the skyline behind him was the museum at Cornell that his grandfather helped build as a master carpenter. It is a good reminder of where his roots are and how amazing it is to come back to a place that your family is woven into the fabric of.
Another reminder is meeting up with friends when we're home...friends that we only see face-to-face every 12 months. But when we're together it's effortless. Many thanks to the Jones for always taking the time to come see us. I love watching our littles grow up together!
